What We're About

At the Wholistic Wellness Clinic, we strive to help people better understand the importance of the mind/body connection to their health care. We believe a wholistic approach to wellness is necessary. Typically, you see that word spelled “holistic” rather than “wholistic.” The latter more accurately reflects what we do at Wholistic Wellness Clinic. We look at the whole person (not the “hole”) and then craft a treatment plan.

Wholistic Wellness is a fee-for-service practice. We will provide the insurance forms you need to submit to your insurance provider, if you choose. For specific service fees, please call 319.365.1141.

Dr. Robin Voorhees

After my first car accident, I went to the chiropractor. Within months, I was feeling better and wanted to learn more about how chiropractic medicine worked. With the help of an old friend with a newly opened chiropractic practice, I was able to learn more about chiropractic. I earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from State University of New York in Brockport, NY. In 2000, I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. I became interested in acupuncture and how it might help me to assist my patients even more. That desire led me to become a certified acupuncturist. I was drawn to Wholistic Wellness because of the total-person approach that Dr. Cooper has developed with her patients. When a patient comes to Wholistic Wellness, they are not seen as just a number or set of symptoms. They are seen as people with health issues that are affecting their lives. I respect the healing Wholistic Wellness promotes for every patient. It’s the reason I am proud to work here. I am honored to be a part of the healing that occurs.

I grew up in Marion and graduated from Linn-Mar High School.  I then earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from San Diego State University.  I began working for Dr. Cooper in 1993.  After I had my first child, I became a full-time mom.  I have three AWESOME children: Hanna (10), JP (7), and Tommy (5).  I also work as a Personal Trainer for the YMCA.  I am currently obtaining my certification as an Exercise Specialist.  I enjoy working at Wholistic Wellness because the variety of services we offer bring an atmosphere for continual learning and challenges.  It is also great to go to work in the morning to a place that promotes WELLNESS and BALANCE.

Cindi Minehart, LMT

I started massage school at age 39 with a desire to work independently in a health care profession, and with other respected professionals.   So with two boys in high school, I headed off to school.  Shortly after graduating, I gave birth to my lovely daughter and started all over with motherhood.  I started my own small business and work as an independent contractor for Wholistic Wellness Clinic.  I have practiced massage therapy since 2002 and I really love my job. I specialize in deep tissue Swedish massage and most recently stone massage. I also am certified in pregnancy massages. In August 2006, I completed and was certified in the 32 hour lypossage course for Zones I,II, and III given by Charles W. Wiltsie the 3rd, founder of the lypossage treatments.  I am currently the ONLY CERTIFIED PRACTICIONER IN IOWA.

Julie Bushman, B.S., L.M.T.,C.R.R., Reiki Master

I’ve been in health care since 1993. A Cedar Rapids native, I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. It is a great profession, but as my curiosity arouse for alternative health practices, I knew my life needed to go in a different direction to revive my passion for helping people. I coasted on this thought for many years.

In 1998, I met my husband and we married shortly after and started our family. In my third trimester with my second child, I met Dr. Cooper and the Wholistic Wellness staff. My first pregnancy was very challenging and I knew Western medicine was not the answer the second time around. Meeting Dr. Cooper began my journey with acupuncture, Eastern Medicine, NET, etc.

During a Florida beach retreat with Dr. Cooper in 2003, my passion for helping people heal was truly revived. After a series of NET sessions, I started my own journey to heal me. Through NET, I was able to release deep-seeded fear and free myself to follow my heart and find my niche in alternative medicine.

After that retreat, I planned to earn a master’s degree in Health Promotions, but that idea was temporarily tabled to welcome my third child, Jade Christine. After learning I was pregnant, I quickly enrolled in Eastwind School of Holistic Healing in Iowa City and earned my Massage Therapy license. I went on to earn Reflexology certification and became a Reiki Master. I am currently enrolled in the 240-hour National Certification Program in Clinical Aromatherapy.

I knew I wanted to be a part of the healing team at Wholistic Wellness. I love having the opportunity to help people heal. I am interested in broadening my scope of modalities to balance the mind, body, soul, and spirit. Currently, I offer a variety of specialties, which were inspired at Eastwind School of Holistic Healing: Shiatsu Acupressure Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Therapeutic Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Raindrop Technique, Reiki, Chakra Balancing and Healing Touch.

Sally Koenigs

I have a Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Iowa. I worked in the retail industry, but took time off to raise my now school-age children. As I learn more about the health field, I realize that rarely does a patient have one specific problem. Often, it’s a series of connected medical issues that cannot all be addressed with one type of treatment. Wholistic Wellness addresses the health of each patient with a wider scope, focusing on physical, mental, and emotional issues to provide as much care as possible. That's the way I like to approach my relationships with friends, family, and our patients so the clinic is a good fit for me.
